Urban Active Fitness is the dream of one man, Royce Pulliam, whose absolute passion for health and fitness has taken him from a single World Gym in Lexington, Kentucky, in 1994, to almost 30 fitness centers in less than 15 years.

Expanding from his first World Gym to a total of seven by the year 2000, Mr. Pulliam converted his clubs to the Gold’s Gyms brand. During that same period, Global Fitness Holdings, LLC was organized to operate, develop, and increase the number of Gold’s Gym franchises.

On November 1, 2007, Global Fitness Holdings took the next step in its evolution by creating a new fitness brand called Urban Active with the intention to expand its coverage area and geographic reach.
